Don't forget: I'm hosting horror movie trivia night after the Padres this Wednesday
Watching the Padres win is cool, but winning horror movie trivia night is cooler
The other day, the manager at The Whistle Stop called and left an alarming message.
“Hi Ryan, I just wanted to talk about your horror movie trivia night. The thing is, it’s supposed to go down on the same night as the Padres game—one of the most anticipated games in San Diego history. And as a bar that wants to support San Diego and show the game, well... you can see why this is a problem.”
Now, I’m excited about the Padres. I’m not even a baseball-head and I’m going around saying “LFGSD” to everyone (although I really wish someone would explain what that means). But the idea that this monumental sports game could potentially overlap an event that I’ve spent a lot of time creating/organizing... well, I was ready to cancel the entire concept of baseball.
But all my worry was for naught, because after a very easy Google search, it turns out the Padres game is scheduled for early in the afternoon, meaning Horror Movie Trivia Night IS STILL HAPPENING.
Get your teams together, bone up on your spooky cinema, and join me (and probably a bunch of drunk Padres fans) on Wednesday, October 19 8 p.m. at The Whistle Stop for a thunderdome of horror fanatics fighting to the death. And by that I mean it should be accessible for horror novices as well as experts. Plus, I’ve put together some pretty awesome gift packages for the winners, courtesy of Re-Animated Records and Verbatim Books.
Hope to see you there!
